Türkiye Strengthens Its Position as a Global Packaging Hub

The Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair, the largest gathering of the packaging industry in the region, was held with record participation in its 30th year. Organized between 22-25 October 2025 at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center, the event welcomed nearly 80,000 visitors - approximately 15,000 of whom were international - from 140 countries, along with more than 1,200 exhibiting companies.

Jointly organized by RX Tüyap and the Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD), the fair once again became the trade, design, and technology hub of the packaging industry in its 30th anniversary. Over four days, Istanbul served as the packaging capital of the world, as participating companies forged new collaborations, seized export opportunities, and drew attention with their sustainable production solutions.

Zeki Sarıbekir: "We Have Once Again Demonstrated Our Global Strength"

Sharing his assessment of the fair, ASD President Zeki Sarıbekir said: "Over 30 years, the Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair has introduced thousands of Turkish companies to the world. The visitors arriving from 140 countries are the most tangible indicator of the confidence placed in the Turkish packaging sector. Today, we make a difference not only through our production power, but also through our vision in design, engineering, and sustainability. This fair brings Türkiye not only trade but also technology transfer and international reputation. The companies that have participated in our fair uninterruptedly for 25-30 years have been the most important witnesses and heroes of this journey."

Held across 16 halls over a 51,000-square-meter indoor exhibition area, the fair showcased a broad product range - from packaging manufacturers to packaging machinery, and from food and beverage processing technologies to recyclable materials. Over the four-day period, thousands of B2B meetings took place between domestic and international professionals, while new business connections were established to expand the export network of Turkish companies.

"Our Sector Will Reach a Size of 50 Billion Dollars by 2030"

ASD Chairman of the Board Zeki Sarıbekir stated: "The Turkish packaging sector has reached a market size of 28 billion dollars. Our 2030 target is a market of 50 billion dollars and exports of 10 billion dollars. To reach these targets, our manufacturers, designers, and machinery producers are working in great harmony."

The Fair's Agenda: Sustainability, Green Transformation, and Circular Economy

In the 30th edition of the fair, topics shaping the future of the packaging sector were also on the agenda. At sessions held under the headings of sustainability, digitalization, and the circular economy, the steps the sector will take within the framework of the European Union's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and Türkiye's new climate law were addressed.

A 30-Year Journey: From 1,000 Square Meters to 51,000 Square Meters

Having started in the mid-1990s on an area of just 1,000 square meters with only 50 exhibitors, the Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair has today, in its 30th year, become one of the most prestigious packaging organizations in the world. ASD President Zeki Sarıbekir concluded: "It is a source of pride for us to see how that modest step taken 30 years ago has transformed into a success story that has carried Türkiye's packaging exports to more than 180 countries. Packaging is no longer just a product - it is a tool for creating value. As the Turkish packaging sector carries this value to the world through sustainable growth, the Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair will continue to be the most powerful platform of this transformation."

The Journey Continues: 31st Fair to Be Held in October 2026

Building on this three-decade legacy, the 31st Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair will be held on 13-16 October 2026 at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul. Once again jointly organized by RX Tüyap and ASD, the upcoming edition is set to bring together packaging manufacturers, machinery producers, and industry professionals from across Türkiye, Europe, the Balkans, Russia, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, reinforcing Istanbul's position as the packaging hub of the region.
